What a wonderful surprise 60th birthday event!  A super venue - sun, friendly locals, good food and above all brilliant company, not to mention the dogs, cats, chicken and rabbits.  The Old Olive Mill is a real treasure worthy of Crete and its people.

Our 4th visit to The Mill, what more can we say!  The added refinements area great.  Visited all the usual haunts, and discovered some new ones.  Crete never ceases to amaze us.

What a brilliant introduction to the delights of Crete.  A privilege to have stayed at The Mill.

A lovely two weeks with wonderfully varied wildlife.  Buzzards lazily circling, a pair of tree frogs who appear after dusk, geckos who sidle out from behind the drain pipe and the swallows skimming the pool surface.  Thanks for a lovely memorable time.

The villa was amazing!  I’m going to tell all my friends about the great time we had in Crete.  The best part was the pool and dog we called Olive, and horse riding when we trotted along the beach, it was so cool!!

Wow, what a wonderful villa.  Superb restoration.  It must have taken a great deal of patience to obtain such a fantastic finished result.  As always, our trip to Crete was wonderful, and we will come back next year.

Marvellous to see your photo narrative of the renovation, and how incredibly imaginative it is – quite stunning.

What a lovely place to come back to, knowing we can enjoy a quiet swim and the peace of the terraces, watching the soaring gliding buzzards.  We appreciated your recommendations on places to visit.  The only down side to the holiday was a rather long power cut.

An absolutely fabulous place to stay.  The taverna in Voulakilies does wonderful boureki, and the old olive tree is well worth a visit, however the peace and quiet of The Mill made this a retreat we look forward to re-visiting.

We found The Mill impressive, tranquil, palatial, secluded and well appointed in beautiful surroundings.  Friendly chickens, elusive owl and noisy dog!  A wonderful stay.
